Pedigree

Branic Figaro is by Always One, an imported Belgian Warmblood by Zingaro (Zeus x Grannus) out of a Voltaire x Ramiro mare. Chianti is by Randel Z by Ramiro out of an Almè mare (Optimum vd Wellington is also by Randel Z), the dam of Chianti is Laizzes Faire who is by Wunderbar out of a Graveur mare.

Zingaro was approved for the SBS studbook in 1998 and had one breeding season in Belgium, during which time he produced some very talented show jumpers such as Archie Bunker who was sold to the USA. Zeus, the sire of Zingaro was among the best producers of show jumpers, including Zandor Z; Ennio and Midnight Madness. On the dam side, Zingaro goes back to the valuable blood of Grannus, who is one of the better sires of dams. Gold Medal winners like Sandro Boy; For Pleasure and Weiheiwai were all out of a dam by Grannus. Always One comes out of one of the best KWPN dam lines, the well known ‘Abanta Stam’. As well as Always One, his direct dam-line produced 4 other approved stallions who are all very successful in the sport, including Tornado (Darco x Voltaire); Marlon (Zeus x Ramiro) and Cantos (Contender x Ramiro). Other international show jumpers from this dam-line are Gabanta (Goodtimes); Karta II (Larome); Mirage; Largo Z and Abanta (Abantos). Randel Z is the sire of International A Grades Optimum van de Wellington (Michelle Hobbs and Rachael (ridden by Nicole Horwood before being sold for R1 million to Europe). Wunderbar is not only the sire of the stallions U-R Wunderbar and Eagle’s Warrior but also the A Grade showjumpers Wunderfrau, Wunderkind and Wundervogel. Laizzes Fair, produced besides Beluga (A Grade show jumper); Largo (dressage); the stallions Principal Laurence; Branic Bellini d’Or and Lorelock Rivatello d’Or.

Performance

Branic Figaro started his jumping career late in life and is currently jumping C Grade and is proving an exceptionally talented show jumper with brilliant technique combined with carefulness and an abundance of scope.

Branic Figaro is the prototype of the modern sport horse, he stands high off the ground with a superb topline. Through his whole conformation he is a true athlete with a strong back, beautiful front and an expressive face. His jump is very elastic and his natural balance and beautiful temperament make him very ridable, all qualities which he passes on to his foals, who bear his trademark stamp of quality, elegance, flashiness & color.
